NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council is seeking applications from Clearlake citizens for a seat on the Planning Commission with a term expiring in March 2021.  The current incumbent, Planning Commission Chair Richard Bean, has announced his plans to step down from his seat effective September 30th.

City Council will consider applications and appointment during the October 1st, 2020 Council meeting. The deadline for applications to be included in the City Council meeting packet is September 24th, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.

The Clearlake Planning Commission is composed of five individuals appointed by the majority of the City Council for staggered, four-year terms.

The scope of duties of the Planning Commission is as follows:

  • Hear and act upon land use applications
  • Act as the advisory agency for the City in connection with the administration of the Subdivision Map Act of the State and the City's subdivision regulations
  • Perform the duties of a planning commission as prescribed by the State of California
The Planning Commission meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall.
