Planning Commission


The City of Clearlake is seeking applications for consideration of appointment to the Planning Commission by the City Council for the vacant seat created when long-time Planning Commissioner Carl Webb resigned/retired. The vacant seat expires in March 2021. 

Applicants must be residents of the City of Clearlake and be available to meet the first and third Tuesday evening of each month.  Planning Commissioners receive a stipend of $25 per month.  Applications are due to the City Clerk by August 1, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.

The Clearlake Planning Commission is composed of five individuals appointed by the majority of the City Council for staggered, four-year terms.

The scope of duties of the Planning Commission is as follows:

  • Hear and act upon land use applications
  • Act as the advisory agency for the City in connection with the administration of the Subdivision Map Act of the State and the City's subdivision regulations
  • Perform the duties of a planning commission as prescribed by the State of California
The Planning Commission meets the first and third Tuesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall.
