Community Development

The Community Development Department responsibilities include project analysis for property development and use review and is responsible for the enforcement of codes, laws, ordinances and regulations pertaining to building construction and remodeling within the City.  Enforcement is accomplished by application review, plan check services, processing building permits, performing inspections, and responding to complaints.

The Community Development Department provides services necessary to insure that construction within the city is performed in a safe and lawful manner by regulating uniform construction codes, energy conservation, ADA law, seismic safety, life safety, demolition of structures and permit activities.  The department is staff to the Commission on planning matters.  It is responsible for the implementation of the general Plan through administration of the Zoning Code, Planning Map Act, Municipal Ordinances, California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), annexation law and special studies as appropriate.

8:30 am - 10:30 am and 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
